The story starts with home made chicken broth. Pammi and I were cleaning out the freezer and found a bunch of wing tips from the playoffs and a chicken carcass. She took those, browned them off and added some carrots, celery, onions and fresh herbs. Put them in a slow cooker over night and we got this!

Holy wow!!! SOOO much better than any box or can! And we have some for next time! Yes!
Next, I started the paella as usual.

Uh oh. The flame started sputtering on the Genesis. Guests coming, so I had to move the whole shebang inside!

I browned the chicken in a small skillet and covered it with a piece of foil to finish it. No finished or plated pic, but it was the best yet!
Thanks for looking people!

Homemade chicken stock makes every recipe better, and, from what I've seen in the past, your paella is already stellar......I have no doubt this one was over the top, Phil!

Been there before on the propane running out, it was a great save and I'm sure was delicious. Home made broth is the best in any book. You both did awesome.

Ah the old sputtering flame on the gasser syndrome, experienced many a time, but no more because of all the gassers I have I have five bottles so I always have a way out. That homemade stock had to be great I've never made it in a slow cooker so tell Pammi thanks for the idea and I'm stealing it.;) Bet that paella was wonderful.
