I think the ‘86-‘87s had the wide slats and that they switched to narrow in ‘88.

The color is more like this lid - my phone just won't capture it correctly....

If I were going to keep this kettle I would be jonesing bigtime to get this lid as a sister grill.... its a looong ways away with a ferry ride.

Moriarty said 'Yanoh --- we could pull that bowl and lid and replace it with a black one.... and find a SSP for the blurple'.... Now THAT was thinking out of the box!!! If I knew there was a good frame readily available I would be seriously considering it.
