I agree, it is probably going to be fairly labor intensive and a bit expensive, but what a cool grill to have sitting and ready for use on the back deck.
I am looking forward to your build thread. Will you be working on it during the winter, or is it going to wait until spring?

I think I might start tackling it soon, depending on how fast other projects clear out. I have quite as list piling up at the moment!
 
The burners on mine were totally different. I posted the "half-burner" used in the oven side on mine. The regular grill left side used a more typical Broilmaster burner. I guess those differences reflect that mine was a later model vs. yours being the original offering. It would be great if it works out for you to re-use the originals!

I wish my grates for the grill side were intact as well as those "oven" racks like on yours. Conversely, I think my cast iron grates for the oven side are OK, but for the gas grill side I am going to either have to get lucky and find another really old Broilmaster that somehow has intact grates, or I will have to cut some newer ones to fit as best I can.

I have been storing the parts for my double in my "son's" shed (that I paid for!) at the house they rent from us, but it looks like they are moving, and the house will be sold. My wife is already telling me to get that "big" grill out of there:rolleyes:. Maybe this will push this long-abandoned project back up on my list!

I was shocked to see they still had the exact "half-burner" that went with mine on "limited quantity" "clearance". I decided to bite even though it may be a LONG time before I get to it. I knew I would kick myself later if I didn't.

Yeah, you aren't going to fill a parts order for one of these unique, golden oldies. That means saving what you can and improvising where you can't. It is one of the realities that slowed me down back when I first started working on mine.
 
Just a quick tip on those half burners. Nothing stopping anyone from taking a standard dual burner and cutting half off. There is a separator inside there. Just cut to the side of it you want to discard. Since even though the H burner looks like one it's actually 2
