Have you all ever had any luck with removing LHS trim piece just using Pblaster and beating it out. I got one that is stuck and does not seem to budge. I do not want to cut it. I would like to leave the grill somewhat useable for someone else.
 
OK, I call those end handles. Yah, good luck. I find PB Blaster and other solvents to be useless. I have spent a lot of time freeing up stuck ones and was mostly unsuccessful. I have tried some pretty drastic measures too. I find the left hand side one without the hooks is usually the worst one.

If I can't get it out, I usually make a decision. Cut the frame holding it in or just break it off and get it out of the frame by drilling a large hole down the middle of it and using a Sawsall to cut it up and pull out the pieces if I want to salvage the frame.
 
I could just use the hole end cap with extensions but the extensions have some wear. Then use the extensions i have from the grill I need it for maybe to go back to the donor grill. Am I being to picky and overthinking this.

Edit: I think I am going to stop worrying about what is left for the next person and just strip it for what I need and give what is left to my local scrapper.

I just brought this old Genesis II home today. Included receipt shows it was purchased new in late summer of 88. With the exception of the rotisserie bracket and newer hose / regulator, it appears otherwise original. Ironically, the L3 serial number is just 292 digits off from the last Genesis II to pass through my hands.IMG_1414.png

Oooooo --- I like that design! Having the ability to control each side would be VERY cool.
Bonus points for them INCLUDING a half griddle with the grill, but sad that there are no side tables..... I guess you would need to incorporate them into whatever stand you would use for it.

I would love to run across one of these.

Oh man that is a great find. I'd snag one of those even though I don't need one and even though I don't refurb for $$$ like some of you folks
