If it drops to $25… I’d consider taking a stab at it.
Too dirty to tell for sure, but now I want to see it clean.Think there’s a lot of fade under the grime? I’m thinking it’s spent a lot of time indoors or in the shade judging by how dark the tables are.
I think it's likely a mica lid, as I believe they were specific to the two folding table Silver. That would be a nice pickup if you have an hour to spare.Initially he listed it as free. He said he’d hold it for me til this morning. Then he changed the listing to $5. Figured whatever, $5 is fine. Hour round trip. Thought it was either a faded black lid or a dirty black mica (gray) lid. It’s a basket case with a great looking gray lid and cookbox.
Here are pics of his frame “fix”![]()

That sounds really good. I've only seen two but neither one showed any fade, a bonus for any kind of black older lid. Congratulations!I’ve noticed that too. I don’t think I’ve ever seen the black mica lid on anything other than a dual tabled silver B.
I’m glad I went and got this. I think a mica lid on a 1000 with durawood will look really nice together.
I don't know if they're identical but the lids and all the components are interchangeable. Always just five flavorizers so I'd guess everything from where it rests on the frame to the bolt holes could match up. Weber kept much the same over the years within these models. I'm betting somebody here has done a swap.
Yup. Everything I’ve done with the A’s it the same as the 500’s.
It’s the brown color.Let us know what the real color of the lid is
That's a good one to do a restoration thread on.It’s the brown color.
