100% that will be happening. That's a good one to do a restoration thread on.

The grill, or the rototiller?Long time family friend wants me to restore this! I’m so damn excited!! It was his and his late wife’s first major purchase together. I can’t wait to get after it!
Once I get my paws on it we shall see. A lot of the bad spots look pretty good in that (albeit crappy) pic. To me that one looks like it may be one hell of a candidate for a high-end restoration! That grill looks unsalvageable but I'll lay odds you guys get stuff like this done. Amazes me. But then I wish I had before photos of my Moto Guzzi when brought home this burned, scorched, chassis and basket after basket of parts. Talk about a labor of love. I wanted a Guzzi so darn badly. I cannot begin to describe the level of work and labor over the next year that had to go into that big sled. But, I was younger and full of fire in my belly that really wanted one. And sadly now I cannot find a photo of itBut if I do I will show
I ordered an extra one of those from you already in hopes another one of these beauties fell into my lap!Cody,
This looks like an extra fun one to go all out on! Look forward to seeing what you can do for them. I am sure it will be a blessing.
That's a very early Genesis 1 (maybe 87 or 88) with the wide slats and metal bracket for the fuel gauge. Let me know if you need a replacement decal for that. I have made ones for the early Genesis grills.
Trust me you can't afford our gubnerI have seen that one. The control panel looks very promising. I should get a time share in IL![]()
Yeah --- I don't like to post anywhere else for no other reason than I'm lazy.... and I HATE FB.That’s not a bad idea to leave it up just to see. I assume you only used CL?
I don’t disagree with that assessment, Larry. I have seen the slates in person and they are far more robust and come packed full of accessory options where these are pretty plain Jane. That does not appear to be the "Slate" with the newer process griddle plate supposedly rust proof or such. That being said IMO there are better ones for $250. If it was $150? Yeah maybe. Though I have looked at one of those in person and was underwhelmed with it. Finding it quite flimsy feeling
What did you do to it?On another note, I’m starting to take a liking to the curved lids. I thought. Found a super quick way to make the SS bezel have a nearly mirror finish.
