I will just leave this here

What is the NG Quick Connect size on a Summit 470 or 650 ?

What is the NG Quick Connect size on a Genesis (III) 310 ? The 310 hose is 3/8" a 3/8" flair fittings on the BBQ end.

Thank you.

Man, this is a cool website.

The reason I love this site so much is because of your opinions. I succumbed to the peer pressure and visited my local Ace. It was $15 more for the pair vs. Amazon. We went for a run in my town of about 6-7 years without a hardware store. So I helped the small guy. Spent an extra $8 on SS hardware. Polished up the table. Tossing in a bag of charcoal. And looking for my new in box charcoal baskets I got for $5 (that are now $31). I know people love OEM Weber stuff so we’ll see how this goes! Going to list it at $350 and see what happens! F it! I’m all in now.

Looking great Cody!

My ash catcher was all tarnished and I started polishing it out and it just wasn't turning out the way I wanted it to so I cleaned it and high heat painted it. I'm glad I did on mine. It made a big difference for mine.

I'm not trying to prolong your project sounds like you're ready to put up for sale.
Get that money!!!

Thanks Josh! I thought about painting it but since the ring that holds it wasn’t, I just wire wheeled the 💩 out of it, then sanded it in one direction to try and achieve a “brushed” look. It’s listed. Fingers crossed.

My CAD$75 Genesis 310 NG. She's dirty and has a bit of corrosion on the emblem and control knobs but the grill is excellent and the flavor bars are in good condition too. I think this is the best low dollar Weber I've purchased.

I'm not sure why the seller sold it. He complained the igniter didn't work. I put a battery in it and it worked. I'll probably give it a bath and flip it. I have a used Summit 650 on the way.

I bought it off FBM. I was busy and paid the seller before I could could see it in person. He was shocked. This is the 4th or 5th one I've bought. Some I sell, some go to friends. Seems a shame to sell this one. Would be nice if it had a side burner though.

Any tips or tricks to renewing the emblem and knobs ?

What's a good way to give these things a bath ? I use a scraper, shop vac, oven cleaner and my kitchen sink. I wish I had a pan big enough to soak the grill in.

the chrome plated emblems get pitted badly.

I used a sander to remove the chrome and bring it back to pure aluminum. It has a chrome layer, a copper layer and then it goes to aluminum.

I didn't even have to touch up the black, just cleaned it well.

I did this a couple of years ago and it still looks good.

edit: found the thread where I described how I sanded it.
I've done two of the emblems. First one was with an orbital sander and 220 grit. It sucked and was a pain and took forever.

second one I used a belt sander and bought some 220 and 400 grit. Went much faster. just kept working it. the chrome layer was thick, and then had a copper layer and then it went down to bar aluminum. I did not bother painting the black part of the emblem, I just cleaned it with dish soap and a Q-tip.

thread has a closeup after 10 months:

I got a little sloppy on the upper left corner.

I knew someone on here would have a way to refesh the Emblems. Nice job. Thanks for sharing.

Did you remove the emblems to do this or sand them while they were on the lid ?

I finally got around to (starting) cleaning up the two Qs (200 and 2200) I picked up nearly two months ago this weekend..... those two grills have been sitting on the side of my garage STINKING to hi hell for the entire time!!!!!! I got them scraped out - pressure washed - grates pretty much cleaned up (both still in GREAT shape!!!!) - burners wired down clean (one perfect - one a bit rough but usable/salable). I got one put back together and fired it up --- I'm really impressed with the Q!!! The grates are REALLY heavy CI - the burner seemed kinda wimpy at first, but was more than enough to get it up to 500 after a bit of time - I don't really see any reason to get it that hot or hotter. They really are pretty awesome little grills! I'm kinda looking forward to cooking on one soon --- I just may have to add one to the herd.

They both need some deeper cleaning --- they both have a really nasty funky grease smell to them. I don't really plan on stripping them to bare metal like other do, but I'll spend some time with some degreaser and oven cleaner to get most of it off. Still need to clean the stands --- so much grease dripped on them.

I pity Josh --- I've seen how many grills he has around three sides of his house and their states - I can only imagine the stench after all the rain we had and now the heat coming in.....
