I will just leave this here

Thanks Guys! I'll post some more pic when they are done. The SS one is pretty much done just waiting on flavorizer bars that are showing up tomorrow. Actually haven't even started on the black one yet but it doesn't look like it will be very bad/hard. I got the black one for free and the SS one was $100 so I should be able to make a pretty good return on investment.

I went in and worked on my Silver C for about an hour this morning. I got the valves cleaned up and lubed, and the manifold painted. All the pieces are now ready for assembly!

Quick question for the Weber brain trust. I replaced the brace where the cook box bolts to the frame. Would a thin SS washer between the frame and cookbox be enough to throw anything off with the burners mating with the valves? I like the thought of isolating the aluminum from the steel, in hopes a $.25 part would add some piece of mind to increasing its longevity/strengthening a weak point.

Josh, that is a great market where you are regularly getting those grills sub $100 and rehabbing and flipping for $500. I might see just a few rehab candidates like that in my area each summer and most of time they get snapped up before I can get them. And no way could I get $500 for even a well rehabbed one like yours.

I just remembered I also got three full tanks of propane with those two grills. Those deals aren't the norm but I try to snap them up. Genesis ii grills have brought my biggest profits. I avoid natural gas units though 99% of the time because they just don't sell. If I can convert easily or pick up a really nice natural gas unit and a donor LP unit to make one nice LP unit only if the price is right.

On my way to pick up this 10-in 2 HP bench grinder for $60.

I've been spending all morning looking at bench grinders new and used. The reviews on a lot of the new ones are absolutely terrible unless you want to buy something like a Baldor which I would love but new or used they're quite expensive averaging around $1K ish. I offered $300 on one that was listed for $900 and no surprise the seller did not accept. I think this one even though I've never heard of the brand should be pretty good. If any of you know anything about it please let me know. I'm going to pick up a wire wheel for one side and a polishing cloth wheel for the other side. Maybe on my way home.

If it ends up not being great and I don't like it I can always clean it up and sell it for profit.

Check out this item on OfferUp. https://offerup.co/mX3Ajf0moRb

That looks like a pretty decent one. I am sure it is better than the underpowered POS I have. I should check the sale sites.

Yah, I should start looking for a decent one. I just checked the specs on my grinder and now I can see that my suspicions we right. I have a woefully underpowered grinder. I have had this for about 20 years and it is a decent brand name, but, I was never happy with how grinding simple items would cause it to slow way down and even stop. Something like sharpening a mower blade is a PIA.
I am going to be on the hunt for a better (more powerful) one, even if it is some chinesium brand. 1/4hp vs 2hp is just not even comparable.

So I'm on my way home with it now Bruce and so far wow I'm impressed and happy with my purchase. It is enormous and I plugged it in at the guy's house and it purred like a kitten. Smooth as butter. It's got a weigh over 60 lbs. I'm in my work truck I put it in the front seat and I could barely get the passenger door closed with the bench grinder wedged between my door and the center console LOL. I hope it works as good as I think it will.
