Are the mica lids sparkly like a metallic paint?
I'm just curious because the black lid on my first year first generation 1985 Genesis 2 is like that and it's different than all my other black lids. I figured it was just an early black lid thing?
 
Mica was the old school term for metallic, at least in the auto industry. So I would assume it means the same.

They gray lid I had, in the Weber schematics page is listed as a Black Mica

I have a mica grey and a mica blue. Just haven't done anything with them yet.

Im going to build a full time griddle next but haven't decided if I want to use the larger 3000 frame or a 1000 frame.
 
Here’s a gray one. Kind of dark in my garage so I used a light to better show it. In the sun you can see the sparkle.
