It sounded like they were. The 2 folks seemed knew each other. We signed many dotted lines to have a home built, I have a covered 10 x10 patio for grilling. My thoughts (due to change moment by moment) were to have Q320, SWM18, Performer, and BroilMaster. Now I am going to see how the Gen 5 may fit in there. The problem is, unlike my other grills I don't want to use it. It is just so pretty and clean.
 
Yah, if I had one, I would definitely flip it and sell it rather than use it. If you want a personal Genesis, get a regular one. The 5000 won't cook any better than a 1000-4000.

Joe, that is a good deal, but I just got Gold B for free that is excellent shape that I'm cleaning up for my son. Very minor rust on the bottom shelf. Previous own removed the bottom drip tray so the shelf was well protected with grease!

Your offer is very tempting, if didn't just buy a restored 97 Redhead Genesis 1000 from another forum member.

That Platinum has a Stainless steel frame. You could do nice things with it.

Hi Ralph, no after-market parts and very limited donor grills available. You are looking at $200 to $300 to replace all the guts.
It is worth $20 to $30 in scrap if you decided not to proceed.
If it’s free there is no downside whether it works or not in my opinion
 
Yep, it does look like it has it. I rarely pay over $50 for any grill, but that one would be tempting. I would probably offer $50 and if he took it, fine. If not, "Oh well".

If my Silver C fit standing up in my Cargo Van will this fit in it?
