I will just leave this here

Larry, It sure seems to me that people are asking way more for their old tired grills than ever before.

Yeah, and I think some are getting something at least close to those prices, too. I have been watching old grills in a 100 mile radius of where we hope to move, and a lot of them are selling after being listed for fairly strong asking prices. Maybe need to charge even more on perfect beauties like that last Genesis 2000 you did, Bruce! If we can selling prices high enough, sand blasting, powder coating and who knows what else all start to look more like options 😃 !

LOL Jon, I was just thinking about the fact that when I first started doing these grills, I was asking barely over $200 for them. Even last year I was selling them for around $250. I am up to $290 for a regular Silver B or Genesis 1000 and with what the buyers are paying for my 2000 with shipping, it doesn't seem like the $300 mark is too high to move the standard grills. I was even about how much I could charge if I redid the SS Platinum C and put the Skyline lid on it and a rotisserie. $500 ????
I would love to find a place to blast cook boxes for me for under $50 a box. But, I will never be able to invest in the equipment to do it myself. The money is one thing, but I just don't have the facilities.

$290 for a Silver B! You certainly live in the right part of the country to rehabbing grills. No chance we could get those prices down in Atlanta...unless maybe it was a rare color.

I might pay $50 for that Texas dry one if the hood was decent. That frame alone is worth more than that. Try making a stainless frame from scratch and you will quickly see what you are up against.

Here is another Platinum. But potentially missing all the tables.
I have tables. Besides, Silver B tables will fit if nothing else. If the cabinet isn't rotted out, it would be a really good buy. I would take that for $50 if it was near me. I don't care about the lid. I would likely toss it anyway. I hate the SS lids.
