I apologize again.... Not a weber grill involved

My plan was to do this cook outside on my grill. But it started to rain so I had to do this inside. I really want to share this dish since it's another one that my mother made for us and that most Mexican families do. It's called tortas de papa. (Potato patties)

Start by boiling 6 potatoes.

Got a Pico de gallo ready

When the potatoes are ready add 1 egg not 2 like me.( made a mistake). Add Your favorite cheese and salt and pepper. Mix good ....if they get to mushy like ours add bread crumbs or crushed croutons. Make the patties and if you wish you can do an egg wash hand dip into the flour. Or do the patties like I did and put them directly on the oil. Brown them about 2-3 min per side on med heat.

Looks YUMMY. I am starting to work out cooking beans, refried beans are going to be coming soon. Would have loved to have seen how you would have pulled this off on the grill...

When the fire would be hot that's when I would put my potatoes to boil and added a few chunks of orange wood to get a nice fire. As it died down I would of gotten my CI for the frying. I have done spaghetti on my grill before. :D
Hopefully next time I can do it on my grill.

Very nice Tony, I love those potato cakes!!!! I like eating them with an over easy egg on top

Potato pancakes. Is what my German grandmother used to make. Close to yours but not nearly as good. As yours had way more flavor added. Good post and a memory of my youth comes back. Thank you Tony. I hope Anthony will have the same memories when he is my age.

Same here growing up in Chicago with my family’s German background potato pancakes were a staple in our diet in the fifties.

Simple I'm not so sure of, I'll give you humble. Now lets add delicious, and beautiful and: a nice tribute and nod to personal history. Your Mom would be proud, Tony!

Now that brings back some memories because my mother used to make these potato cakes with leftover mashed potatoes. Thanks Tony for the reminder.

C'mon Tony, you let a little rain stop you from grillin"? That's when I forget the Weber and fire up the rotten egg and just keep going. Just kidding..... nice post & nice meal too.

Potato pancakes are a favorite! Had them all the time growing up and will have to put those back in the rotation!! Great looking cook Tony!

Definitely comfort food, Tony! Nice that you got your son involved in the cook. Looks delicious.

Nice looking albondigas Tony, my mother use to make these all the time. Great with salsa all over them.
