I’m ready to dump Amazon Prime

Since they abandoned “Free” 2-day shipping and now need a week to deliver. The inflated prices to cover the “free” shipping remain inflated.

120 bucks a year isn’t worth it to me anymore. I don’t watch video stuff on Prime all that often (Bosch being my favorite).

I don't blame you. Amazon takes forever to ship now. I can order dog supplies from chewy & it there, the very next day.

At least Amazon rarely uses fedex in my area. I had a time sensitive package that the shipper shipped overnight by fedex. The first two delivery attempts were on a Saturday and Sunday (delivery date was supposed to be the prior Tuesday), of course my office was closed. They finally delivered it two weeks after the initial delivery date. I had already initiated a return and sourced the item elsewhere so it went straight back to fedex.

I'm currently waiting on fedex for a package from Weber, an ivory Smokey Joe Premium and parts. It left Weber 8 days ago. Fedex tracking said it was on a truck to be delivered yesterday. It never showed up and no further updates to the tracking.

I will no longer do business with vendors that use fedex.

Gee, I must have pretty low expectations, most of the things I’ve ordered have been here day of or early.
Only a couple of things coming from a source in Asia (Godzilla stuff) have been lost. Oh, lousy communication from a seller on a Cleveland Indians bottle opener that never showed. But that’s not bad.

I guess you will never be able to buy a mixer from me. FedEx is all I use since the USPS has lost and or stolen or damaged beyond recognition so many of my shipments
I have not had one issue with getting stuff from Amazon Prime BTW sometimes within 12 hours of ordering

I agree with your assessment of Amazon Prime Greg, at least right now. Their delivery times are not so hot. I had something I was considering a while back and the Amazon Prime date of delivery was nearly two weeks out and that was with UPS. Their drivers are stressed to the max, at least up here in my area. I left a package on my porch for a UPS pickup, a return and I left a note asking if he'd take it. I happened to walk by and see him snatch it up and could tell he wasn't into it. I opened the door and said thank you and he ignored me. So I stepped out on the porch and shouted thank you. He kept walking up to the truck, never turning around once. Side note. Agree with you about Bosch. I'm not a big Titus Welliver fan, but will admit he does a fantastic job being Harry Bosch.

I usually go with free shipping, so I don't mind waiting a few extra days.

Sam's Club is pushing members to join the Plus Club, but I turned it down too.

Ordered a carburetor yesterday for a lawn mower I was working on for daughter and her upcoming home purchase. Came this AM and I installed it with success today

My only problem with Amazon, is its scary how good they are at offering a product at the lowest price and then correctly delivering that product promptly.

Its scary because they're getting so big. I watch the Amazon deliveries on the street I live, one of their trucks comes through here multiple times every day and makes multiple stops. And then I think about what its like nationally. wow, they're doin a business.

So I try to spread my purchases around. I find an item on Amazon at X price, I then search the net for someone else offering the product with comparable shipping times and rates. And occasionally , I find better, like the Tel Tru temp gauges that were lower cost and free shipping directly from Tel Tru.

Generally, when companies get as large as Amazon, they begin to fail, but its really incredible how they continue to deliver products at best price and fast shipping.

This week I ordered some trimmer line for my weed eater. I assumed it was round line, that my B&D trimmer requires. When I got it, it was square. It did not tell me that in the product description. I returned it and Amazon fully refunded .......... and .... to return it all I had to do was take the product to a UPS Store a few blocks from me. I did not have to package, nothing, just handed it to the UPS clerk , showed her the return code on my phone, and I'm gone.

That's hard to beat.

In my experience they're very transparent about the products. I have no issue with them. Look at how Sears Roebuck flourished when they developed shopping from a home catalogue. Really if you think about they started the whole thing. It could have been them being Amazon if their people didn't have their heads up their butts and understood it's not just "price" it's also service. Amazon has taken that and run with it. I get something from them maybe 3 to 4x a week. Sometimes twice in a day! Yeah sometimes I may find something cheaper elsewhere but not with the service and convenience Amazon offers. I have even ordered supplies for my dad (who is 93 and lives alone) and he can call me and say I need XXX in the morning and I will sit down at the computer and voila that afternoon he's got what he needs!
Maybe they will fail maybe not. For the time being I will happily use them for nearly all my shopping needs

Yep, Sears could've been the competitor for Amazon, that WalMart is trying to be now ............. but that company had very poor leadership. Sears had everything in place. Amazon was just a lot smarter.

I still can't understand what happened to Sears. They had good store brand recognition with a big network of stores, but their accounting and display practices were mired in the 1980s and never went beyond that.

Has anyone here ever received an order from Amazon via drone?

Just now ordered something from Prime. It'll be here delivered right into my garage for me tomorrow.
Sears got too complacent. Customer service went by the wayside
