How many chickens?

Hi Everyone,

Been a while.

My wife has this "great" idea to have a birthday party for my soon to be 5 yr old son. We thought it would be fun to smoke some beer can chickens.

How many chickens can I potentially cook on a 22.5 WSM at a time?

How many chickens will be needed for a party of 45 people (big family)?

I would think that you should be able to fit four on each rack for eight brds. 8 pieces times 8 birds equals 64 pieces. Guess it depends on how hoangry you are....

If you skip the cans you can do 6/grate = 12.

It depends on how big the chickens are. It looks like you can fit 4 or 5 big birds on each rack, maybe 7 or 8 smaller ones.

If the chickens are big, 4 people to a bird, that is 12 chickens for 45 people. If they are small, you will need more of them

Buy a lot of potatoes!
