How about some good music links?

From 1994. Grunge had killed hair metal, and was now consuming most of the record companies' resources. Electric blues was trying to survive the loss of SRV, in the form of artists like KWS, Jeff Healey and others. This band from England, The Hoax, by all rights should have knocked it out of the park with this debut album. But it just didn't happen for them. I bought the CD off a strong music magazine review. It's well-produced, with the ambience of a small club. No new ground broken, really, but the execution and musicianship is remarkable. The first half is full steam ahead, then dialed down for an epic 10 minute slow jam before resuming. Playlists can't be embedded, so here's the link to the full album:

BTW, tonight on PBS is the Antone's 50th Anniversary show on ACL. 11pm CST.

Ran into an interesting group of musicians this weekend.

The Harp Twins are classically trained harpists with a delightful range of musical tastes. While I do quite enjoy their covers (hard rock & metal, their rendition of the Immigrant Song is wonderful,) their original music is even better, IMO. They've combined forces with the Volfgang Twins both in the studio and on tour. All 4 of them are outstanding musicians, and will certainly be picking up some of their albums. At first glance, their niches will appear to be rather silly. After their first performance, I completely revised my opinion. Edit: They are highly accomplished and talented people.

They have stuff on Youtube, and pretty much all of the streaming services.

Full disclosure: I helped out with tech at their shows this last weekend. Great people to work with and listen to.
