Horn Barbecue Burns Down: Support this GoFundMe drive

I was simultaneously saddened and pissed off to learn that Horn Barbecue in Oakland burned down a few nights ago. The cause has not yet been determined but all signs point toward arson after Matt Horn posted a strong statement on social media about recent vandalism at his restaurant. This guy is making award winning barbecue in Oakland. He didn’t have to start his business there, he could have done it anywhere, but he chose to support Oakland and create needed jobs there…and this is the thanks he gets.

So here we are, at that time of year when we give thanks for all our blessings. If you are thankful for people like Matt Horn who bend but do not break in the face of adversity, and you want to make a difference in his life, and you want to make a statement that good folks will stand up against those who do harm like this, please consider donating whatever you can to this GoFundMe fundraising drive to help Matt get his restaurant up and running again.

Ain’t that the truth! I live on a busy street, last night there were probably six police cruisers, lights flashing, sirens blaring, Some sort of commotion at the corner. I never even heard the sirens I’m so used to it anymore! There was a time when a siren four blocks away would wake me out of a sound sleep!
 
This is really sad. While it's OK to disagree, violence or property damage are just unacceptable. I have faith in humanity though and am sure that good people will pitch in and help them get through this. Doubly sad that it has to happen right before Thanksgiving.
 
I guess this is how the new generation shows their gratitude for a hand up. Hopefully he rebuilds elsewhere where, his buisiness will be appreciated
