Had a local metal fab shop make several rings a few years ago, before the Cajun Bandit was available. Has 3 grids, holes on either side for thermometers/probes and an old ceramic smoker draft door for the Stoker blower.

I recall you sharing a picture of the ring alone a while back. It looks like a really nice fit Steve.

It's pretty air tight and easy to control temps. I've not done an overnight cook on it, but it's great for ribs.

Here's some whole short ribs I did a couple weeks ago...

That is Bad A** buddy! Nice looking ribs! I tried beef ribs couple of months ago didnt go great. I am trying again after that pic!

hey, those ribs don't look very good... you'd better wrap those up and send'um to me so i can dispose ovum for you naturally.

<span class="ev_code_GREY">very nice!</span>

Looks like a Primo vent on the bottom. But does it really work good that high above the coals? Well i guess it does couse the Ribs Looks Outstanding!

I just got my homemade kettle ring finished. I had some vital help from a good friend who rolled the carbon steel for me. The ring stands 16" high and 21.75" in diameter. Has pegs that rest on the bottom of the kettle and that hold the lid on the top. It's a very good fit inside my kettle with a tiny gap that has made no difference. I have a grand total of $43 in this project.

I would love to make one like that. I just want to be able to accommodate a rotisserie.i don't think I'd need the full
16" height.
