Hey Larry...

A likely "You Tuber" had been in it. There was some really weird stuff in the gear box (weird chemical smell), it rumbled and grumbled trying to run, would not go to proper speed, they put glue on the studs holding the motor together, and as soon as I fired it up for an inspection I could "smell" something bad happening. Burning electrical smell, scorched armature and brushes. It looked like :poop: :poop: :poop: :poop: :poop: :poop: all beat, scratched and what not.
I told the customer to just "write it off". While I could have fixed it, when it starts getting into the mid-upper $200 range (actually this one would have run likely over $300 to put right). At that point it makes no sense. You still have a beat up and smelly (cigarette smoke and animals along with gross air freshener smell) it literally stunk my shop up.
