Help with this genesis

I got a genesis yesterday. " new " to me. :)

How does this work...how does this know how full my propane tank is??

Isn't it basically a weight scale (where the tank sits)
Make sure you bleed your tank before filling it, to get all the air out

I don't think it "hangs" I think it sits in a specific spot, and it sences the weight and based on the weight of the bottle, it says how much is in the tank. I'm guessing, based on a BBQ my buddy has with a similar gauge. If indeed, it is the weight system, I'm told it's not all that accurate, but then again, yours being a Weber, it might be better

Tony don't take what that scale says as being accurate it’s just to give you an estimate of what you have left and their known for being inaccurate. I have two of them and one will read ½ full and I can put it on the other and it says ¼ full.
But yours could be spot on, so until you know for sure make sure you have a back up tank.
Oh and a picture of your "new to you toy" please.

Tony your bottle hangs on the scale. As stated do not need to use the clamp bolt. As Rich said it is to give you a idea of the basic quantity of your bottle.
It hang will hang real close to bottom shelf on a full bottle.

As others have said, the tank hangs on the gauge. On another note, I'm jealous of how clean your Genesis is.... :D

The scale on mine is fairly accurate, but buy an extra tank and fill it. When it runs out of propane during a cook, and it will, you
will be ready to go.
