Hello fellow Barbecue Addicts!!

Like many folks, I have been lurking on this site for a while now. I started grilling with my father when I was kid and have fond memories of our old Weber kettle. I remember Dad stacking up the charcoals in a pyramid and then squirting the "tasty" lighter fluid all over creating a quick burst of flames. Then propane/gas grills became available and my time with Weber ended temporarily. For 23+ years I was using a gasser and got pretty good at delivering what I thought was good food. But one night after a few cocktails I got the "craving" to go back to my roots and buy a Weber. So I am the proud owner of a Weber 22" OTG and a 18.5" WSM. I grill and barbecue year round and have been inspired by this website to incorporate even more grilling in our daily lives. Many of you have CI skillets and I have just started using them on my kettle -- falling in love with CI. Nothing like cooking with fire -- it is an addiction and I don't intend to goto rehab:) Ha! I intend on posting some photos once I figure out how to use Photobucket. Look forward to sharing my cooks with all of you as I have enjoyed reading all of your posts. What a great website and I have already shared this site with many friends and family!

Hey Tony. I am close to you. I live in Redlands. Been in the IE (Rialto, Riverside, Redlands) for 44 years!

Welcome. Photobucket is easy to copy and paste from.

You mention memory lane. I was talking to SWMBO tonight; though I was military and moved a lot so I haven't had the same grill, I have been cooking on Weber Kettles for 30+ years. I remember as a kid my uncle and dad cooking BBQ back in TX in a fridge conversion.

Yes Dwain got Photobucket figured out and posted a some shots already. Ever since I bought my Webers, I have been talking about it a lot at work and 2 of my co-workers already switched back to charcoal after years of using a gasser. I will still keep my gasser but I expect it to be collecting more dust then in the previous years!

Getting quite a few people here from the IE. I'm going up to the Dana Point BBQ championship in a couple of weeks, anyone else making the trip out there? The swmbo and I are going to make a weekend of it, stay in San Clemente Friday and spend all day st the festival on Saturday.

Welcome Jeff, glad to see ya here!

Hey Tom. Yes indeed...Jurupa Valley very close and I work in Riverside. Thanks for the heads up on Dana Point BBQ comp...I might have to check that out.

Hi Tom,

I know a couple of teams who frequent this forum will be there.

Steve Aguilar, the latest Challenge Pit winner, will be there.
JerryA will also be there.
Probably a few others.
And a couple of us judges will also be there.
