Hey everybody just bought the 22" WSM last week and tried it out for the first time over the weekend. Cooked two whole chickens and they turned out great. Can't wait for my next opportunity to use it. Think I'll try pork butts for BBQ next. I figured chicken would be a good place to start for my maiden voyage.

Toss on a rack of ribs while you're near it... the WSM is KING at smoking those beautiful Pork Baby Backs or Spares...

Did you brine the chickens? We really like Smithfield we love to boat into the Marina on the Pagan River.
 
Yes I did brine them. Very basic brine of salt, sugar, black pepper, and Cheyenne pepper. Yes boating in Smfd is a lot of fun in the warmer months.
