Just recently purchased a Weber smokey mountain 18.5 after having 2 Brinkmann cheapos. First cook on the wsm provided 2 whole chickens. Very tasty. Could never get edible food from the Brinkmann.

Thanks all. The chickens were a huge hit at work
I put way too much water in the pan and had to add coals. But weather was sleeting vents wide open. 28 degrees. I am super impressed. Little leakage from the door at times. But meh.. looking to do a ham next.
 
Welcome Brian. These guys are a great bunch of cooks and lots of knowledge. Get ready to have lots of fun cooking on your 18.5.
