Thought some of you guys would get a kick out of this, I love the old Swedish Mauser's. Have had a few and am down to one 1941 Husqvarna short rifle and an Gustaf 1914 all numbers matching mint as new rifles.
Well my 60 year old eyes are just not shooting as well with open iron sights so I had a gunsmith mount a scope on the short rifle to use this fall hunting.

Here is my date

After getting the zeroing worked out at 25, here is what she did at 100 yards. Cheap Pri Partisan Ammo. Not bad for a 60 year old shooting a 74 year old !

nice Bill.
I know squat about guns, but I do know to wear blaze orange in these parts November thru December

Here is my date
That's a fine firearm Bill! I have my Grandfathers "Officer's" Garand 7.62 (Semper Fi, Papa) Enjoy it and thanks for your post. Papa died in 1965, I was fortunate enough to have spent several summers with him & Nana (who live until 1996 widowed) One of my fondest memories was shooting his Garand at Shasta Lake. Apparently it was one of his fondest memories too, his Garand was one of his most favorite possessions, he left it to me, bypassing his brothers and even my father.

Old Guns like yours and this one speak to a time of Honor and Courage and to the Men who carried them. I've owned one of those Garands and love em. Make sure you do him the honor of shooting it and cleaning it regularly. He did you a great honor passing on to you. My Dad left me a Japanese Arisaka he brought back from Japan. I shoot and clean it at least once a year. These are not plastic guns, I am willing to bet your Grandfathers rifle, my Dad's rifle and this Swede could be fielded in battle and would serve with distinction like they were just made last week. Thats how things were made, how men were made back then. Built to serve and survive.
You are very lucky indeed my friend, cherish it.

I remember the Husqvarna name from 60's and 70's dirt bikes, but I never knew that they made rifles. Yours looks very similar to a Russian one that I have from the first
world war. The scope brings your into a new era of life.

I'd like a precision machine - as close as I've got to that is the M1A Scout I've been drooling over for several years.

I'm a bit of a collector, no good but I like to play.

I've been planning some reactive targets.....maybe soon. (plate steel & a garage door spring, games, etc)

Very nice Bill and some good shooting there also. Funny with all the guns I have and the ability to drive 15 minuets to the forest to shoot I haven't been out there in over a year. I think you just inspired me to go practice a little.

I love to shoot , (not much of a hunter tho) and that is a sweet looking rig right there. I love the old guns. Nice wood and real machined steel parts. Nothing quite like them. I used to have a pre 1965 Winchester lever action in 32 special caliber that was a joy to shoot. I never had a scope on it but it was pretty accurate with the iron sights. That target shows some pretty good shooting. Was that all from the bench rest or did you try some free hand shooting.?

From the bench Frank, my two main hunting rifles are a early fifties Winchester 30-30 lever action. Shoots like a dream. And my CZ 30.06 Mauser Mannlicher stocked bolt gun. Which I use depends on what terrain I hunt. Love em.

Looks like to me you shoot pretty good for being 60. I shoot a 7mm weatherby and I know it's hard to set & shoot the rifle in group shots. Well done , very well done.
