Ok, the non Dutch people will be thinking, what is this. Well, it is an old Dutch recipe out the Groninger region.
More or less it is a type of bread with raisins and bacon :-)
It heavy on the stomach and after 2 slices you will have enough. It is normally served with brown suger and melted butter.

That is something else, I've never seen bacon used that way. Looks delicious and pass a slice please.
 
Alrighty then - I'm in. Can you provide a recipe so we can try this at home? Is this bread typically eaten for breakfast or in some other traditional way? Please advise...

For breakfast it is too heavy. It is normally eaten for dinner sometimes dessert.

Never seen it. But I'd eat it if you'd share! Thanks for introducing many of us to new things all the time.
