the fish was done quickly, 'bout 4 minutes one side & another 3 the other, over a medium to high heat
Romaine was next, again, about 4 minutes total, i just kept turning it (fell asleep for a minute or two)

chopped up the lettuce and serve that with some sweet peppers Liz sautéed on the stovetop...
then drizzled drops of red balsamic over it all...
the flipper was served on some Italian slipper bread (ciabatta rolls) with Real Wisconsin Cheese...

Terrific lookin' grilled tilapia sammiches, Jim! And, holy huge chuck eyes you picked up. Sure wish I could find some that nice.

Jim the fish looks awesome! We have been using Northwoods Fire on the tilapia and it has worked out well. i'll have to try the Cali. Thanks!

Those tilapia fillets look great - and i just finished eating dinner! I'll be looking for the Cali pepper when I'm at Penzey's this weekend.

OT: I was hoping for rattlesnake - we campfire grilled one ~12+ years ago. My young (then) dog sniffed it out, my friend found a Y shaped stick & trapped it, tried to get me to cut its head off. I wound up holding the stick & he used my pocket knife. Tasted like.....Tilapia! I kept the head - hung it by it's fangs from my whiteboard (in my office) & he made a hat band from its skin on a straw hat.
