Greetings, from southwest Missouri.

After abandoning it in my hectic, impatient, and arguably ignorant college bachelor days, I've rediscovered a love for cooking with charcoal and have found a new joy in low & slow with the WSM.

I work in IT and need a zen-like hobby that is not only common ground with my friends (they glaze over when I talk about my job, I glaze over when they talk about sports, we all like to eat BBQ) but one that gets me away from my office. I've found it. I love that it can't be rushed. I love the anticipation of the weekend cook. I love that my neighbors flock to the smell. It's also comforting that in the event of a technological collapse this hobby could continue (and I could hopefully provide a valuable service to whichever local militia seizes control of my town). :)

Anyway, as a newbie, this is a great resource and seems to be an even greater community. Looking forward to taking part.
