I bought a new 22.5 Weber Gold Kettle on 5-11-13. The weld in-between the handle and lid started to rust about 2 weeks ago even though I was using a Weber cover. I called customer service today and they are sending a brand new lid at no charge. They said it must be a defect. I didn't even need to send them my old one. Amazing! I love Weber products and I will be a customer for life!

BTW: The CS rep was extremely friendly.
 
I bought a new Genesis few years ago and the lid did not seem to fit quite right. I called Weber about it and not only did they ship me a new lid, but they also sent a guy out to uninstall the old and reinstall the new. I have nothing but high praise for Weber customer service. Now if the could only figure out how to make good, durable, waterproof covers for their grilling and smoking products, I would be a very happy camper.
