Hi Joan, yep just what PHolder said! But mine is sweet - and legal
- and I "cook" it on the stove, instead of a still. I think real moonshine is terrible, NO OFFENSE to all the real moonshiners.
This tastes like apple or peach pie and a shot or two will make you sleep like a baby.
I also make a "special edition" blackberry shine at half strength. Its only available to my mother, who doesnt drink, but sometimes can't sleep. She shares her with some of her friends.

Already smoked a couple bricks of cream cheese. All that remains for me is to smoke some Irish Cheddar and some bacon for the wife's Cashew/Bacon Brittle. This stuff leaves Peanut Brittle in the dust!Got the smoked cheese and pistachios, and the sugar shine ready. (Actually did the cheese about a month ago.)
This week I start the fudge and brittle.
Then packing up and delivery.

Im gonna smoke alittle cream cheese for Christmas Day. Tried that about 10 years ago and was disappointed.
Think my problem was that I didnt use any rub. With the accolades it gets now, I gotta try again!
I make all 3 nut brittles, but my peeps seen to prefer cashew and/or pecan. (The latter for me.)
Never even thought about adding bacon, tho. You have me intrigued.
It sounds wonderful.I'm through with the cheese for now. I did 17 lbs. - 34 bricks. I've made 20 pints Apple pie shine, 15 pints Blackberry shine and 12 pints Peach pie shine. Will do another dozen pints of Peach, then I'm through with that. Now only candy left to make, at least for gifts.

Yes, sort of, but i never tried it in shots. I do Mason jars.

It's been awhile since I posted anything on this forum, but this was easy with not too many pics. Started out with 1 gal Apple Juice and a gal of cider mixed with 1 1/2 cups of sugar along with 8 cinnamon sticks on the fire. After boiling for a bit we let it cool off on a rack outside then...
