Getting a Baratza Virtuoso+

That is a bet that I would NOT take. I'd be far more likely to suspect that there's coffee grinders that would require a full HazMat suit with bottled air for disassembly.
You haven't seen some of the mixers I've opened up. I recall I posted one so bad it had mold in the gear box and stunk up my whole house. But, between some with so much cigarette smoke, mouse droppings, bug carcasses, and other horrors of residue I cannot even describe. Then you will understand why I am always wearing nitrile gloves when I work on them.
What amazes me is people actually live in places where the machines came out of and actually prepare food from them! And believe me, I've delivered the machines back to them and needed a shower after leaving those houses.
Had them so bad wife has come home and first thing she says "what is that smell?" and mind you the machine is in the basement! Not even in the house! What is wrong with people?!

I do recall some of your tales. Also helped some long time friends with some work at her mother's house, who was a chain smoker. Thick coat of nicotine on EVERYTHING in the house. IIRC, after she passed, nothing in the house was salvageable. Anything food related..... is an invitation for anything to take up residence.

I wonder if they couldn't tell the difference between a blade grinder and a burr grinder. Chefs often use a blade grinder to grind spices, choloate, etc. Perhaps they were watching a cooking show and saw them grinding chocolate with a blade grinder and thought "why not".

I'll know more once I FINALLY receive it. USPS has let me and the seller down AGAIN.

Well it showed up today. Definitely full of chocolate :D But it runs. I ran it a few seconds. They're definitely NOT quiet machines. That is for sure!. Just finished a mixer for a customer to buy so gonna take it to the shop and see what is what in there

The thing was packed full of chocolate that had melted and turned to concrete. Just got done spending a solid couple hours on it Got it cleaned up, and out. Was really hard chiseling the brick out of there. Anyway I got it back together. Runs. After I finally get off the phone with an old friend I'm gonna see if it works with some coffee.
