Genesis XXI (Jr) Restoration

After finishing the serving trays for my wife. I tested some different finishes for my slats for my Jr.
After using my router with the tiniest bit just to knock down the edges and sanding down one test slat. I finished it with this Watco ebony oil + stain and I'm liking the look. Hard to capture in photos but looks great in person.

You just wouldn’t expect a Junior to have more than twice as many slats as a 1 or even more than a 1000LX of similar vintage…..

Thank you Steve! It's been a sidetrack kind of day so the sandings going kind of slow but I hope to get more done after I pick my daughter up from school.

Looks incredible Josh! I really like the slight edging on the wood. It makes a difference and really looks professional. The stain is beautiful and the trays you made your wife are really cool! Careful with that improvised router table!

Thanks Val! I hope to get more work done on it tonight. I'll be careful

Just received my shipment from Dave Santana. Grates, flavorizer bars, z-metal and flip table brackets. Two sets of everything. One set for this junior restoration and the other set for my next Genesis 1000 restoration. I also have another full set of SS for the Genesis 1000 restoration after that. So I'm pretty stocked up and ready to put in some restoration work when my schedule allows for it.
