I'm thinking I'm going to have to use a modified Weber 7509 igniter. Any other thoughts?View attachment 117734
I’ve been tossing around the idea of (high temp) clear coating an entire manifold valves and all. Obviously taping off the orifices and stems Of valves.Manifold, valves and regulator cleaned up. I usually remove the valves from the manifold to clean and service them but they were on there so tight that I felt like they would snap if I applied any more pressure to remove them so I took Steve's advice and cleaned and service them on the manifold.

Yep, that's what I was going to say.Looks just like a sideburner igniter
Or a regular igniter with the collector box removed? Thanks guys I think that might work. I have plenty of side burners. Glad I kept them around. This French Canadian Weber side burner looks to be unused so the ignitor could have some good life left View attachment 117740View attachment 117738View attachment 117739
That was my thought. So maybe. Now I have more options and I know I can easily modify my best option for an igniter.Or a regular igniter with the collector box removed?
Ok, that actually does look just like the igniter from my Genesis Gold side burner. It has the same little mounting plate and screw.
Is that ignitor still available for sale? Do you have a picture of one?Ok, that actually does look just like the igniter from my Genesis Gold side burner. It has the same little mounting plate and screw.
Thanks ValThat's a beautiful lid and a really cool looking Weber! Love the control panel, I've never seen one of that vintage. It's seems like it had a pretty gentle life and will look incredible when you're finished with it. Congratulations Josh on an awesome find and a great save from the landfill!
They do still have those for sale. I'll have to look for a picture and part #.Is that ignitor still available for sale? Do you have a picture of one?
Awesome thanks Steve! They do still have those for sale. I'll have to look for a picture and part #.
Looking forward to seeing them. In the past three or four months of looking at early Webers on FB Marketplace I haven't seen one come up in my area. Thanks Val
This is my second Junior and I'm hoping to get more.
They are definitely a bit rare. They come up occasionally but not like other models. Here is my other JuniorLooking forward to seeing them. In the past three or four months of looking at early Webers on FB Marketplace I haven't seen one come up in my area.
That definitely looks like a winner! This is the part number for the replacement kit and a picture of what was left of the igniter bracket. It's rotted out but you can see that it did look like what you have. You can also kind of see it if you zoom in on the replacement part's picture.View attachment 117757View attachment 117758
They both look great Josh. Are you going to use your roll painting technique for the endcaps? That technique I learned from you worked great on the Silver B endcaps I did. I was wondering if you also roll paint the outside of the cookbox or do you spray paint it? I sprayed my Silver B cookbox but on this next one I'm thinking of rolling both the endcaps and the cookbox. What do you think? They are definitely a bit rare.
