Genesis 2 fell on my lap

I think a sear burner is worth having on a North South 300 series.

I use my sear burner all the time, usually with one other burner. I find It delivers a nice slice of direct heat for 3 to 4 burgers, just enough so they flare up and get some flame broiled char.

I also use it when I've got my lodge CI griddle on the gasser. my griddle isn't that wide so two burners under it does a great job..

I've also used it when making pizza. 48K BTU for three plus the sear gets get temps over 650.

Not essential, but IMO it is nice-to-have.

I just sprayed down the grates, grease catch, heat deflectors and warming rack with Easy Off and closed them up in trash bags. Hinge pins and grease tray holder come tomorrow. I'll attach the side shelves, clean them up and reassemble later and fire it up to burn any residue off.
The grates weren't too bad.
All in, including parts and shipping...maybe $45.
Not bad.

Well it's 99% complete. Just waiting for FedEx to deliver the hinge pins and grease tray holder tomorrow.
Grates and het reflectors cleaned up to almost new condition after a 60 minute soak in Easy Off. Warming rack cleaned up OK...good enough for me. I put the shelves on the wrong sides...but I kind of like the cleaner look and I'll never use the Weber iGrill3 as I have an excellent Bluetooth grilling thermometer already.
Burners cleaned up very well. So it's definitely the Ace Hardware exclusive model in Indigo with light. Cheapest it ever sold for was $850 on Black Friday 2018.
I'll season the grates later this week.

Sear/fourth burner is a really good feature.

Grill heats up faster with a fourth burner. And makes for a very nice hi/lo two zone set up with the n/s burners.

Try putting a griddle or flat top on the sear burner side. You can get a really nice sear that way.
