I finally got a chance to use the gas starter.
It was being sold on eBay for $39.99 w/free ship at the end of last year. The seller now wants almost $13 for shipping, and the unit is still $39.99.
Listed on Amazon here for same price w/ $8 ship:

It has a 2 pc. "grate" for cooking w/pots or pans.
My deck is full of my Webers and my wife's planters, so I have no extra space for a weed torch, or turkey fryer, so this seems like the ticket when I don't want to uncover the Performer to start charcoal. (I don't like using paper or starters)Plus it can go anywhere with me.
Pros: Sturdy, lights fast, portable, and serves as a burner for sauce, etc.
Cons: Made in Korea, not the USA, and the Weber chimney will not fit.
Would I buy it again? Time will tell, if it holds up well, then yes.
Used the charcoal to start potatoes cooking on the Performer, then added some lump to the K and cooked Bryan's Roadside chicken with my last stalk of romaine lettuce.
