Fresh oysters

The local seafood dealer had fresh Galveston Bay oysters so I snagged a dozen, washed them up and tossed them on the Performer:

I let the cook in their shells until they started to open, about five minutes, then I opened them, removed the top shell, added a mixture of melted butter, lemon juice, a bit of red pepper, parsley and garlic, then let them go a bit longer on the grill. My wife even ate a couple.

Needless to say, there were none left.
Thanks for looking

I never had a oyster in my life. The slimy texture scares me. But cooked by you it looks divine!

That is why they are called sliders, they just slide right down smooth,no after taste, just good. I will take a dozen or so please.

Really nice, but honestly, the oyster should never see heat! A shot of lemon juice, a little quiver, and culinary delight.
That said: I'd take two dozen of Richard's as well!

EXCELLENT RICHARD!
I could eet those everyday!

Daniel, get'cher self some ou'ysters an' some hot sauce an' some cold beer an' fire up your grill, you'll LV'EM!

I bought 2 dozen yesterday. Shucked them to half-shell.

Hit each with hot sauce and melted butter that had garlic, lemon juice, & black pepper in it. Threw on some green onions (scallions). Grilled on gasser with lid closed for 2 minutes. Added grated parmesan to each near the end and let melt.

Served on patio next to grill with slices of french bread. Most would grill longer, but we like them barely cooked.

I prefer them raw, with lemon juice, a spicy horseradish-worcestershire-Tabasco-ketchup cocktail sauce, and saltine crackers. But the grilled was fun.

Very nice Richard.
Next time, try my favorite. I put about 1/2 teaspoon of blue cheese on each oyster and then I drizzle a bit of Absolute Citron over the oysters. Back on the grill til the cheese starts to melt.
