Found my unfindable...a Weber Junior/Jr.

Very cool Jeff!
I cant believe I missed this. I never even thought to ask Dave to make me burners! I bought a spare set from a guy in Canada. I think his name is Steve. They were cut down and rewelded. I have been planning on making a set myself but maybe I'll ask Dave next time I put in an order with him.
I thought that guy was out of Alaska, but anyway his tubes for the Jr seemed to be very well made judging by the pictures I saw of them?

Yes I think they are pretty well made. I'm a little concerned about the welds holding up over time. I was planning on making a set like Dave did and didn't realize that he made them. Or that anyone made them like that. I thought it was my idea but clearly it's already been done at least by Dave and maybe others. I'm not sure.

I thought I remembered them coming from Canada but I guess not. I just checked and his Etsy account is Alaska which is where I ordered them from. His eBay is Idaho and looking at the tracking from my order he shipped them from Idaho. His name is Steve and seem like a nice guy.

There is what looks and feels like a thin spot on one of the welds and I'm worried about burn through over time. It's probably just me being over critical. I probably should have said something to him when I received them but I don't like to complain. I still have them for backups but I'm not sure I would feel comfortable using them. Figured I'd just come up with my own solution.

Dave had not modified Burner Tubes before I approached him about the JR and I'm not sure if he still does them
What I appreciate there are several people now making them and it keeps the JR alive for the next generation to enjoy I like how Dave cuts the ends and flattens rather than cuts off a middle section and welds them back together.

That's great! That's the way I was going to try and do it myself. I just haven't got around to it. I have plenty of old burners to experiment with.

Since I already have several Genesis 1000s lined up for restorations and only a couple Jr's. Finding more Jr's to rescue for restorations is at the top of my list and having parts for restorations can be challenging but so worth it to me.

Josh, are you rehabbing and selling the Jr's or just collecting? If you resell them, how do you fell the market is for them compared to your other rehabs?

Bruce I don't plan on selling any of them. None of my Genesis 1000 either at this point. I know I can't keep them all forever but I think I can find people worthy of donating them to with a similar appreciation for these old Weber grills. I have only sold newer Weber grills as flips for money to reinvest into the older ones. After I finish all of the personal grills that I have envisioned for myself I may consider building some to sell but we'll see. I definitely have more than I need and I don't want to see them go to waste if I can help it.

As far as the market compared to my other rehabs I feel like I can make easier quicker money on newer Weber grills at least in my area.
