I gave it my best, but ain't gonna be any OTA TV for me. That said, an opportunity to get quality equipment for a hella good price. I'm going to be in East Contra Costa Friday 03/21/25 for anyone in the Bay Area, I can't deliver unless it's Brentwood / Discovery Bay, otherwise it will need to be picked up in one of those two cities. I can deliver it anytime in the Redding to Shingletown area, and at some point I will be. I will also be in the Petaluma area in the very near future

The set up includes:

EXTREMEtenna 80 ($169 New)

TV Antenna PreAmp 1 ($85 New)

50' Coaxial Cable Black RG6 ($25 New)

High Pass Filter 50 MHz ($12 New)

FM Filter ($19 New)

Coaxial Cable Grounding Block ($10 New)

5' Ft Galvanized Steel Antenna Mast Pipe Swedged End Length 1.25" OD ($25 New)

And From True Value Hardware
35' of Copper Ground Wire $65 New
1/2" - 1-3/8" Grounding Clamp $10 New

Total cost $420

Also included, some great advice from members of TVWBB

Those antennas look like amateur radio.
Agreed. The owner of those antennas may or may not be able to help with OTA TV reception.

If it's any consolation Chuck, situations like yours led to the development of community television antenna systems, where a group of individuals or a small company would place one or more antennas in a location favorable for OTA TV reception (for example, the top of a nearby mountain). The signals received on those antennas were distributed via amplifiers and cables to subscribers in the surrounding area. These local TV signal distribition networks were the first cable television systems.

Agreed. I studied for the test--including code--but then kids came and I saved some money decades ago.
I let my license lapse and sold the "old-school" stuff I had. I had no place to setup an HF antenna once I moved to suburbia so it was just sitting.

I'll likely get my license again after I retire. Looks like Tech and General don't require code which is good as I've not signaled in over 25 years. I still have a a 2 meter mobile setup to use the northern CA repeater network and it works from just about anywhere.

@ChuckO If you don't already have a license, you might look into getting one. The first level license is easy to study for and pass. A small handheld can reach repeaters and work great in the back country. I'm sure the guy with those antennas knows someone in your area that does the exams.

I believe he's a Ham Operator. We use the Wunderground weather app, it's his house that we get attach to, and get some of the best weather reports I've ever seen. I want to talk to him, but around here, you don't just go up to someone's front door until you know them

That's something for me to look into, I know I'm not the only one who doesn't want to pay $80 a month for a subscription to TV. It's not looking good for watching the Giants games this year, you watch this will be a winning year too

Certainly an entertaining one.
Adames, Chapman and Lee should help turn this around and Verlander could be interesting.
Damn Dodgers though.

Unless you’re bringing fresh baked cookies or pies.

Unless you get a VPN and stream to your TV.

See if this helps, @ChuckO:
