Took my first stab at pizza on my WSM. Important to note that I don't have a pizza kettle, so had to get creative. Took a lot of advice from the VWB community before I started. This place is an invaluable wealth of knowledge. So here was my setup:
Placed the charcoal ring on the lower cooking grate:

to get the pizza closer to the dome and achieve equal cooking on top and bottom, raised stone using rib rack:

Put 1 and 1/2 chimney starters of lump charcoal in, access door off and was able to achieve 550 degrees:

Pizzas took 5-6 minutes to cook. I was very happy with the results considering it was my first attempt. Made four pies (2 cheese, 1 pepperoni, 1 pepperoni, peppers, and onions) and each was better than the previous:

What to working on for my next cook? Honestly I was extremely happy with the taste and the texture of the crust. I would like to have to top of the pie a bit more brown so will work on getting the pizza closer to the top of the dome or maybe a diffuser to push heat directly away from the pizza stone. And obviously I have to work on my pie making; that's a pretty sad looking circle. All in all I couldn't have been happier. Family and neighbors loved it.
