Our local meat market had tri-tips on sale this week. So the wife went and got some. First she injected it with beef broth, soy sauce, Worcestershire, olive oil & garlic salt. Then she seasoned it with fresh cracked smoked pepper, and McCormick's grill mates Montreal steak and Cabella's roasted garlic & beer.

On the grill with fresh corn from the Olathe CO. sweetest corn there is. Started with corn direct and tri tip indirect. Over Kingsford & cowboy lump.

Here's the finished tri tip took off direct coals @ 139 degree's rested in foil for 10 mins sliced in the plate. Perfect, notice all the juices? sliced it thin mixed in the juices and ate it direct. I'm 56 & first time that I had tri tip in my life. Loved it.Will have to be rotated into our diet. Wife loved it too.

Nice thin slices, light pink, med, for us.
thanks for sharing, lifes good in the 4-corners, hope that it is good in your world too.

I was talking to my doctor down at the hospital
He said, "Son, it says here you're twenty-seven,
But that's impossible..."
Cocaine.... "you look like you could be forty-five"

Jim,
those cast iron grates got them this spring and they improved all of the flavor 20-30% over the standard grates of all food grilled on them. My better half agree's. As far as my age I feel 37. Keep the drums rolling.....

Well done Russ. I had tri tip for the first time a few months ago and I live in Southern California.
