Most days I don't feel too smart, but today I do kind of feel that way because I've solved a minor annoyance in my backyard.
We've got a small fountain that runs on an electronic timer, and whenever the power goes out it loses its programming. It's mounted low on the wall next to the patio outlet and it's impossible to read the LCD display.
A few years ago, Mrs. TVWB bought a couple of Kasa Wi-Fi enabled indoor plugs to control some lamps. I don't know why it never dawned on me that Kasa probably makes a weatherproof outdoor Wi-Fi plug. Sure enough, they do. Just $19.99 and now installed and configured, it's programmed via smartphone and since the programming is held in the cloud, we will never have to reset it after a power outage. And it can be programmed to follow sunrise/sunset throughout the year, which I really like.
Mrs. TVWB thinks I'm a hero, at least for today.
