Barb found a nice Tri Tip in the dog food section, go figure huh.

Decided to cook it up for Father’s Day and to celebrate my 5000th post.
Used the performer with red oak for the smoke. Seasoned with SPOG.
Cooked indirect to a temp of 120 then a two minuet sear.

Barb made some yam rounds seasoned with evoo and Weber’s Chicago Steak seasoning. Along with a nice mozzarella, tomato and basil salad
Barb also made a peach pie in a CI pan on the performer for desert.

The TT was perfect, super tender and great flavor, along with the sides it was a perfect Father’s Day dinner.
And with Barb’s peach pie, oh yeah!

Hope all of you had a great Father’s Day. I know I did!

Yummy!

We smoked a tri-tip for FD too - they're almost impossible to find around here.

I believe that, I was born and raised in the 'burbs of Chicago (Franklin Park) and didn't know that they existed until I moved to California where they were all over the place. Fairly easy to find here in Arizona too.

Wow Rich - that is some special love on FD. Love the pie cooked in CI - very creative...

Regards,

John
