Eyelet Kit for WSM

Back in the year 2008 I bought a new WSM 18" which now I call a "Classic". My question is will my "Thermoworks Smoke and Chef-Alarm Pro-Series Probes" fit through the "BBQ Guru Eyelets" on my WSM?
 
The probes will fit thru the eyelet up to the silicone junction with the cable.

Older WSM with out a silicone grommet will either need to be retro fitted with the grommet or notched. You could always snake it thru the door or pinch the cables under the lid rim.

Neither of the Thermoworks probes I have will fit through that style of eyelet. You have two choices: Notch the rim where the lid sits, or two purchase a Weber silicone grommet and drill a hole for it using a step bit.

Most people here seem to prefer the notch; I'm in the minority and prefer the grommet.
 
Mike and J Grotz: Thanx for your quick and excellent reply! So, what other "brand(s)" probes will fit through the 1/4 inch BBQ Guru Eyelet that is not a BBQ Guru Probe?

I think Thermoworks has some Type K probes that don't have the large lump of silicone at the junction. But I would be inclined to notch the barrel or retrofit a grommet that the newer models have.
 
Has anyone had success cutting a notch with an oscillating multi-tool? Just wondering if that would work in place of an angle grinder? Thanks.
