End of year prices for WSM?

Ive been holding out on purchasing a WSM as im moving and in hopes of an end of year sale. Do the end of season sales by the big box stores offer closeout prices on WSMs or is the price difference between in and out of season insignificant?

ya know, others have seen the WSM in places like Ace Hardware and Home Depot and Lowes... I never have.
Maybe it's only the Milwaukee area stores that do not carry them.
Steins Garden centers in Milwaukee is an authorized Weber dealer, yet three employees there told me they never heard of a Weber smoker when I was looking for my first.

I believe Amazon's best price on both the 18" and 22" WSM is actually Mid-August... and that's about now.
Butt, I may be incorrect.
Here is Amazon's price today for the 22":
$342.18 & this item ships for FREE with Super Saver Shipping. Details You Save: $156.82 (31%)
and the 18" price:
$257.41 & this item ships for FREE with Super Saver Shipping. Details You Save: $91.59 (26%)

I think I paid 257 for my 18" in 2009.

Tom,

Got my 22.5 from Amazon the first part of June this year. Price was $336. Don't know if they have end of season sales but their prices sure do change frequently.

Thanks to info on this forum I bought a 22" WSM at the end of May when there was a 20% off promotional. I got an Amazon card on line just prior to making the purchase and got an additional instant $40 credit applied to the order. First billing statement I paid the card off. Hopefully they run a similar promotional soon.

Item(s) Subtotal: $355.38
Shipping & Handling: $49.83
Super Saver Discount: -$49.83
Promotion Applied: -$71.08
-----
Total Before Tax: $284.30
Sales Tax: $0.00
Gift Certificate/Card Amount: $40.00
-----
Total for This Shipment: $244.30
Total paid by Gift Certificate/Card: $40.00

I waited for a while and didn't see much change at B&M stores. I finally ordered mine online at Walmart and it was $347 plus $.97 shipping. Pretty much the cheapest I could find at the time.

Thank you everyone. Im keeping my eyes peeled for some sort of promo to purchase now. In another thread someone noted the WSM 18.5 going for $224 but my local Home Depot doesnt have any in stock.

I don't know, but amazon's price for the 18" is good. I bought it at $275, it spiked for 48 hours to $300, and now is $257.

I'm new here, and I appreciate all of the excellent advice available on the site.

I found that Aimtofind.com has the wsm 18.5" for $249. The code "dealsmoker" takes another $10 off.

Shipping is free, and it comes with a free cover of unknown quality.

At $239 delivered to my door, this was the best deal I could find as I ordered my first smoker two days ago.

Hi John.

All of the WSM's come with a weber cover. They are quite good covers, only caveat being that water can seep through the seams so you either want to waterproof the seams, or keep something else between the seams and the wsm. I keep an old stroller cover between the two, and I know a lot of people just put a garbage bag over the wsm before putting the cover on.

Enjoy your new smoker!

Mine don't carry the 22.5 but I just bought an 18 three days ago for 224.00. They had three left and I grabbed one. I've heard the same from other people. That price is about as good as it gets for in box WSM's as far as I've seen.

Just a reminder to members that purchasing a WSM at Amazon.com using the link on the homepage is one of the most powerful ways you can help provide financial support to keep TVWBB running. Buying from Aimtofind or anywhere else does not help TVWBB. Yes, it's more money, but a good portion of that difference actually goes to TVWBB.

Thanks for your consideration,
Chris
