It’s too damn good looking not to have one. Does anyone know if there’s supposed to be an attachment to the top vent? I didn’t know before but I do now, there’s no thermometer in the lid

I knew I was going to get one, I put it off until now, hoping my Walmart would have a "clearance" but they never did, they just sold out at the full price. I paid the full price, $149 it's going to be my BBQ / Smoker because of the Bar-B-Kettle design. My Stealth Kettle will be my Rotisserie Kettle and I'm probably going to sell my WSK. I'm more of a kettle guy, the WSK and I just never bonded
 
I have one of those as well. They are definitely old school/ bare bones like the originals. It really make you appreciate the little things like one touch, ash bucket and lid bail that Weber has added over the years.
 
Sometimes less is more! That’s a nice gift to yourself! Good for you, I have several thing from me to me under the tree! Hee hee! Bad holiday rhyme. Just a few incidental gifts left to wrap here. Now I need to start seriously considering the menu, I’m sure ham will be involved, creamed pearl onions, Kilties (Ta muchly, Tony UK) but, roasted Brussels sprouts, mashed potatoes (or some sort of AuGratin) are still awaiting final approvaL. Dessert is completely up in the air!
 
Adding a thermometer would be a nice and east thing to do. If you use an OEM Weber one with the bezel and position it like Weber does, I don’t see that as hurting the value. If you want to go all out, you can do like Tom Horsman and get the red, white and blue legs and the American flag wood handles that Brian O’Neil makes! :coolkettle:
