Another one of my favorite meals Deep Dish Pizza, Parmesan garlic knots and an Antipasta Salad

Deep dish pizza and pizza dough tied into knots baking on the grill

Put the knots in a large bowl and tossed in a melted 1/4 stick of butter, added some Parmesan cheese and granulated garlic

Antipasta salad

Pizza sliced up. Should have waited a little longer and let it set up more before I sliced it but we were hungry!

John, super looking pie, knots, and salad! What kind of crust are you using, and about how long did the pie take?
Thanks,
Tim

All this looks amazing. Really digging your choice of foods the last couple posts. I've never made deep dish pizza, would love more info on the recipe when you've got time.

Nicely done John! Do you put anything in your CI Skillet to avoid sticking, or does it come out nice if cooked fully?

Great looking pie John! Really like the knot idea going to give that a try. Barb and I do the deep dish CI pies all the time, really good stuff!

My kids would absolutely love those knots. That's a great idea, cheap, quick and simple.....

The pizza looks great, BTW. I learned in a copy-cat recipe that if you take some Pam butter spray and spray the edge of your pizza before putting on toppings, it makes it toast up nicely and have that Pizza Hut butter flavored crust. Just another something different.

Pizza looks great John! Do you follow a recipe for the crust? I've tried ATK's and that seems very good to me, but I'm always looking to improve on things.

For the crust I have been using store bought crust from Fresh and Easy. I add a good amount of olive oil to the bottom of the skillet. Layer the pizza just like a Deep dish pizza is with the cheese on the bottom and sauce on top. I set up my grill indirect but first set the skillet right over the coals for 5-7 minute. Place the skillet indirect and give it a turn around the 15 minute mark and cook another 10-15 minutes or until crust is golden brown. Once pizza is done let it rest 10-20 minutes to let everything setup. I take a butter knife and run it around the edge to make sure the crust has separated from the skillet. Pizza should just pop right out of the pan. I try and run my kettle around 400 degrees dome temp but it ran a little hotter than that this cook.

Looks delicious John. Haven't had pizza in a few months. Need to get a new pizza stone 1st. Guess I'll add it to my wish list.

Awesome job John, love deep dish pizza. I like the knot idea, serve with sauce great appetizer for sure!
