decisions, decisions.....

TVWBB 1-Star Olympian
shopped for dinner after work yesterday...
had two nice chuck eyes in my hand then a saw the sirloin on sale and they looked pretty good.
so, I put down the chuck eyes and grabbed a 2 pound sirloin.
sat out for an hour then Worcestershire sauce, Santa Maria rub and EVOO covered it with fresh German Red Gaaalic

cut up a few small Yukons after peeling them

▲ brushed with more German Red in the melted butter
the winds were calm enough to cook on an open fire, so I pulled out the Santa Maria grill

with mushrooms in a CIS, the steak hit the hot grate

decided to get the 'shrooms closer to the heat....

and the meat takes on a nice sear...

and the mushrooms got done 'bout the same time...

lower the empty food grate to the hot coals to burn off any crud & move the chow indoors

a short rest ...

then sliced and plated up with asparagus and sweet red chili peppers

the steak was good... but really, I shoulda gone with the chuck eyes...

Thank you all for your time! Enjoy this fine fall weekend!

I guess you'll no better next time, but it sure looks like a first rate cook, I'll take it while you do up the chuck eyes;) Love those Santa Maria's

Great to see the SM in action again, cookin' up some beautiful vittles!
Your sirloin is cooked to perfection, think the c-eyes have you spoiled?
I ask because I've been thinking about buying some sirloins lately, it's been awhile, and I always loved them.
One of Mr Wolfe's favorites too as I recall.

liz LOVES sirloin, probably the reason I bought it...
but I also believe she loves the EYES... horse a piece...

just asked her.... sirloin OR chuck eye....
and she said..."Wow! hmmm, Chuck Eye."

So there you have it.... Hooked on the eyes.

Thanks again everyone!!

You gotta have sirloin once in a while. Sirloin was "steak" when I was growing up. I still love that flavor.

Great meal James.

Love them Chuck Eyes, but that's an amazing looking Sirloin, Jim. The whole meal looks awesome as usual. Great job!!
