I decided its time to replace the flavorizer bars in my grill and have been trying to find the craigslist link for Dave with no luck. I can find his ebay listings but that cost much more. And since I also decided I wanted to treat myself I was also going to order grates. Does any one know if he is only using ebay these days. Or am I just not using the correct search. If someone can find his craigslist add and put the most recent link here I would apreaceate it. Or if someone has his email of file I can try that. I deleted all the email conversations I had with him in the past.

Here is a link to his Craigslist, send him an email he will respond.
I just picked up some flavorizer bars from him.

He’s not doing grates right now. His stainless rod guy retired.

I put the set I ordered on my “new” 1000LX, and painted them with Semi gloss black, seems to have taken well.
I’ve thought that durawood slat tables are more prone to rust damage than wood because the standing water doesn’t “ wick” away at all.
This was true on my 1000LX which was good elsewhere with awful zbars…..

Another nice feature was that he has offset the zbar holes from already existing holes enough so that they don’t almost fit an existing hole in the slat. This has been a problem for me when trying to match old slats with old zbars.

Now, I’m going to put the bite on my cabinetmaker buddy and make a custom side tables for the project! I’ll leave them bright, maybe have them electropolished with the rest of the frame…

I’m debating doing a hand sanding and a machine polish to my frame. The lower cross members have some really bad rust staining from the now gone rusted cabinet sides.

The only parts which will NOT be stainless will be the bottom rack, I’m still trying to sort that out, I’m thinking some kind of perforated material.
