Thats one of my favorites! Top 3 for sure maybe #1. I'm going to build a grill specifically for this style lid. When I get my 3 favorites built I'll see which I like best.

I don't hate it, but I don't like it very much either.I’d agree. It’s a hard lid not to love. If only the stripes were blue![]()
Now the maroon version of that lid looks fantastic to me. I find it a little strange that I come across a lot more of the gray lids than the maroon ones.I don't hate it, but I don't like it very much either.
The stripes make a huge difference for me, so much so that regular lids don't appeal to me very much any more.I like the maroon version also. I have my eye on one for sale. I don't like it as much as the gray but I do like it a lot. Both are high on my list because I think the stripes add cool vintage character. I like that they don't have platinum series printed on them also.
Definitely cool! Your black platinum grill is still one of my all time favoritesThe stripes make a huge difference for me, so much so that regular lids don't appeal to me very much any more.
I agree, she was a beauty. I've been on the lookout for a nice Platinum series lid ever since selling it.Definitely cool! Your black platinum grill is still one of my all time favorites
I hope you find one. I'd like to see another 1000/1200 restoration from you.I agree, she was a beauty. I've been on the lookout for a nice Platinum series lid ever since selling it.
Thanks, I'll stumble into one eventually. I'm hoping it will be a maroon one or another black.I hope you find one. I'd like to see another 1000/1200 restoration from you.
Of course I wouldn't mind seeing you do one as well. I can't be the only one willing to do start to finish restoration threads. That's seems to be what we need a little more of here. Thanks, I'll stumble into one eventually. I'm hoping it will be a maroon one or another black.
I'll be happy to do more. I have three planned right now and I have most everything I need for the restorations. After that we'll see but I have several so I'll probably do some donation Genesis x000 grills after I finish my personal line up.Of course I wouldn't mind seeing you do one as well. What could you possibly be missing to restore those?. I have three planned right now and I have most everything I need for the restorations.
Possibly some SS goodies from Dave. I'll have to see what I have and what I need. Oh I'll need some Steve Hoch white walls also. I think that's it.What could you possibly be missing to restore those?
You can count on me for whitewalls. I am still working on the ones for the older style wheel that you sent me. As I like to say with a lot of not so easy things that I do, there is some math involved.Possibly some SS goodies from Dave. I'll have to see what I have and what I need. I'm excited for them. Both styles. When paired with freshly painted black wheels together they make a big difference on the appearance of a nice restoration. You can count on me for whitewalls. As far as the Zbars go, they are pass/fail for me. Meaning, if there is the slightest amount of rust on one I will not reuse it because you will see the imperfections in it even after you repaint it. The only thing I haven't done, but think I will, is have the ones that Dave makes powder coated to match the original finish.Possibly some SS goodies from Dave. I have several sets with zero rust that I can use and should. Most that I have come across are rust free. I like Dave's but I see no reason to not reuse the ones I have. So we'll see but I will definitely use Dave's flavorizer bars. I think I have one extra set.As far as the Zbars go, they are pass/fail for me.
