Just looks grimy to me. Something about the color is weird though. Can't tell if it's red, maroon, that brick reddish/brown.

It is hard to tell, but I would take a drive to pick it up and find out.

Yeah, it is an early Genesis 3, I'm guessing pre 1990.

the lid has an odd mottling to it.

I'd grab it Steve.

It definitely has more texture than usual. I have seen a few of the older ones like that

I would agree the earlier first generation Genesis lids look like that but also seem to hold up better over time.

If it was close to me, I would take it if only for the early Genesis parts I could salvage. The frame looks bad where you can see, so I am sure there are a more problems not visible in the pictures. Just the control panel would be worth $35.
