I’m right there with you. With those grates and that kit, it looks to be worth $50. If it was closer to me I’d likely grab it.

I wouldn't mind getting one of those to restore. To me they are the charcoal version of a Genesis 1000.

Agreed. And the 2nd gen Performers are like the Silver Bs. Almost as good, but not the same as the original.

The only reason you 'think' you don't need it is because you haven't had one.....
I'd be really bummed if I didn't have my kettle anymore.... I think I'd give up my WSM before the kettle.... but that ain't happening either.

If I ever come across a platinum summit with the SS frame (that’s beyond salvage) that’s one of the things I’ve been considering for repurposing the cart.

That's what I was considering doing with the last two I had but I was able to sell them for more money than I bought them for even after I took the grates out.

Seriously, at $20, you could try it and if you don’t like it you can sell it for probably $150-250 with some clean-up. Grill a big ole rib-eye on it and you may turn to the dark side.

If I was back in WA. I definitely would but here in AZ. I'm try to keep this place under control. Just a couple grills otherwise I'll end up with 20+ grills here too.

That looks exactly like the one I restored a few years ago and sold for a nice profit! In fact, I picked it up in Vistancia! Guy was preparing to move, wife ill, and just wanted to move on from it. Greentop and all-had it right next to my 89 blue ss. Great memories. $20 pretty awesome price
