Oh it wasn't health issues. The physical therapy is mostly due to a neck injury I got over 50 years ago. And I had no idea it was at the root of all the ancillary neck, shoulder, nerve and such issues. I'd been going to a chiropractor weekly, and while they were helping and basically maintaining status quo. But, always some other issues were cropping up. They recommended therapeutic massage. And that would help as well. But neither therapist was able to or willing to work with BCBS health insurance.
Earlier this year for father's day my wife bought me a therapeutic massage gift certificate at a different place, and back in September I made an appointment. After which they'd called me to check on any ancillary health issues they might need to know about i.e. blood pressure, diabetes, age, weight and general build.
They said we'll have Sherry for your appointment. So I get there. This somewhat small unassuming woman comes out and said she'll be the therapist.
So while working on me she starts going on about "What's going on with your neck?" She said lots of scar tissue, and other stuff. Then outta the blue she asks "Were you in a a car wreck?" I explained: Yes but over 50 years ago. I was hit from behind while stopped by another car doing about 40 mph. I asked her: If that is still a problem thinking I'd healed up. She told me since I'd never sought any treatment things healed up badly.
So now they're working on that with rehab, PT, Chiropractic, targeted medical massage and so on. And wonder of wonder, they're making progress AND working with my insurance! Who knew? An accident from over 50 years ago could be an issue now
